Full Service With Windshield Camera Recalibration
What is Windshield Camera Recalibration?
Why need Windshield Camera Recalibration Services?
Failure to appropriately calibrate a car’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) can compromise the safety and functionality of the system. Even slight misalignments, as small as a few millimeters, in the cameras, radars, or lasers on the vehicle may result in inaccurate readings, hindering the proper operation of the ADAS. The consequences of a misaligned camera extend beyond mere functionality issues; it poses a significant risk to safe driving and increases the likelihood of accidents.
If your vehicle has a windshield camera, you came to the right place. GlassTek is one of only two companies in the St. George area that has invested in the calibration system required to ensure your windshield replacement does not adversely affect your safety systems.
At Glasstek, we have over 30 years of experience with windshields, and we’ve invested in state-of-the-art systems to ensure we can handle all calibration requirements. Our technicians are trained and certified on these systems, and you can be sure that your safety systems will remain within manufacturer specifications. We feel proud to be a one-stop solution for mobile, same-day service for personal, fleet, and foreign vehicles.
Recalibration ensures that all the functions of your camera are still in prime condition. This includes the performance of your cars:
Lane departure warning system
Adaptive cruise control
Lane keep assist
Forward collision alert
High beam/light sensor
Why Does Your Vehicle Need Camera Recalibration?
In most cases, the system’s sensors are integrated into the windshield. Once disconnected or moved during the replacement process, the sensors can be disturbed or thrown out of alignment. To ensure that you’re getting proper readings, the camera should be recalibrated and aimed to OEM specifications.
Understanding How Camera Recalibration Works
Depending on your vehicle’s year, make, and model, you may need to have a static, dynamic, or dual (both static and dynamic) recalibration. These typically take one to two hours to complete, and we recommend them after replacing your windshield.
Static recalibration is done while the vehicle is stationary. This process requires using a scan tool and lasers to provide targeted results. The advantage of static recalibration is that the car can stay in the shop and does not have to be on the road to complete the full range of the recalibration work.
Dynamic recalibration, on the other hand, takes place while driving your vehicle. We plug the system into your ODB port to test, monitor, and recalibrate the ADAS settings. This process cannot be completed during rain or snowstorms. Therefore, careful consideration is taken into account when scheduling your windshield replacement. Once the recalibration is completed to OEM specifications, the technician will print out a pre and post-scan report for your records.
In some cases, dual recalibration will be needed. This means some work will be done in the shop while the rest is completed with your car on the road. At Glasstek, we’ll help you choose the best options for your vehicle.

Was so happy to hear that GlassTek could handle the recalibration of the safety systems mounted on my windshield as I understand most glass shops don’t have that capability given he investment required in the technology
